We organized a little Easter egg hunt for Rosie this weekend. The Easter bunny really came alive in her imagination, and we had a blast seeing her excitment.
The first balloon was right outside our kitchen window. Let the hunt begin!
We suspected that it might be a bit difficult for her to find eggs that were too well hidden. So, to make things a bit more toddler-friendly, we put the treats in nine mason jars and affixed a balloon to each. We then arranged the jars throughout the garden so that one led to another, with the balloons acting as big, colorful markers for her follow.
She needed a little guidance at first, but got the hang of it quickly.
We blew up the balloons after Rosie went to bed on Saturday night, and got up early on Sunday to lay them out in the garden.
Another discovery.
Each jar had something different in it to keep things exciting.
A chocolate and hazelnut squirrel. Yum.
Her basket is now satisfyingly full :-)
We used a fluffy soft toy to signify the end of the race and help explain that the 'Easter bunny had run out of chocolate'!
Enjoying some of her treats in the sunshine.
It was such a simple event, but so magical and memorable.
Walking back to the house after a really fun egg hunt.
