We've been busily exploring our new region, and it's been so eventful. We've found a fishing lake, a bunch of new places to eat, and a racetrack. We had such a fun time watching the harness racing - we can't wait for the next race day!
Today we're heading off to a nearby village called Castelsarrasin for the weekly farmers market, to check out the livestock for sale. We'd like to raise chickens for eggs, and we've heard this is the place to buy them.
We've also started to get to know our neighbors. The farmer next door grows the wheat, onions, and sunflowers that we see from our kitchen. They also share their land with some beautiful retired race horses. The horses have started leaning over our fence at the bottom of the garden and, to my immense delight, we've been given the OK to feed them apples cut in half. I hope they continue to visit us :-)
